Hotmail Login Process
A plain walk-through of the normal way to log into a Hotmail account, whether it's opened on a desktop computer or a smartphone. The steps are the same account you've always used, now accessed through Outlook.com.

Logging In on a PC
The normal way to log into a Hotmail account starts by opening a browser and going to www.hotmail.com, which carries existing Hotmail sign-ins through to login.live.com. Enter the email address, then the password, and select Sign in.
1. Open the sign-in page
Navigate to www.hotmail.com or login.live.com in any browser.
2. Enter credentials
Type the Hotmail email address, then the account password.
3. Access the inbox
Select Sign in to reach the inbox, now presented through the Outlook.com interface.
Logging In on a Smartphone
Accessing a Hotmail account from a phone follows the same pattern as on a PC: open a mobile browser (or the Outlook app, if installed) and go to the sign-in page, then enter the email address and password.
Because Hotmail accounts were converted to Outlook.com, existing emails, contacts, and folders carry over, so the sign-in step itself doesn't change based on the device used.
- Open a browser or the mail app on the phone.
- Go to the Hotmail/Outlook sign-in page.
- Enter the existing email address and password.
- Tap Sign in to reach the inbox.
